Project Challenges

 Achieving Absolute Seam Integrity & Substrate Stability

The primary challenge in TPO installations is the transition from a degraded existing roof to a new, high-performance system without interrupting the facility's operations. Any moisture trapped in the old substrate or a single faulty heat-weld at a penetration could lead to systemic failure. Furthermore, the installation required working around sensitive landscaping and existing structures that could not be disturbed during the heavy tear-off process.

Upstate Roofing addressed these challenges through a rigorous "Identify and Protect" protocol. Before any materials were moved, we staged protective barriers (tarps and plywood) to shield the property’s assets. We performed a comprehensive deck analysis, replacing compromised sections immediately to ensure the TPO had a perfect substrate. To guarantee a leak-proof finish, we employed advanced heat-welding techniques and conducted multi-stage inspections of every seam and transition. The project concluded with a final quality audit that exceeded industry standards, backed by a comprehensive system warranty and a customized long-term maintenance plan.
